I am not ready for marriage, says Silambarasan

Kollywood is watching keenly on an announcement about Silambarasan’s marriage, since his sister Ilakiya got engaged recently. The star, however, seems to be in no mood to tie the knot anytime soon.
Silambarasan has said that there are more marriages that are ending in divorce these days and this keeps him away from tying the nuptial knot. He has said that if he finds an understanding partner, then he will announce his wedding and until then he prefers to retain his bachelorhood.
The star is currently busy with a number of projects to concentrate on, including Vettai Mannan, Poda Podi, and Vosthi.

Massive opening for Avan Ivan

Bala, Arya and Vishal couldn’t have asked for more. Yes, Avan Ivan and its Telugu version Vaadu Veedu, which released today, took a massive opening. The online booking for the first three days was over within the first few hours the booking opened.
This left many fans with no other option but to wait in the long queues at the theatres since morning to get their tickets. While some were lucky to get their tickets for the show, several others had to return home empty-handed. This is not the state in Tamil Nadu alone!
In Andhra Pradesh movie buffs from Guntur, Vijayawada, Hyderabad, Nellore, Rajamundhury and other places also rued that they could not get tickets for a single show.

Rajini is back!

Rajini fans will be delighted to hear that he will be discharged from Mount Elizabeth Health Centre in Singapore tomorrow. The doctors are happy with the progress he has made and have said that he is perfectly fine. He will be staying in a plush apartment rented by his family for the duration of his convalescence and will also continue to get regular check - ups. It is expected that he will return to India sometime in July, once the doctors have given him a clean bill of health.

Dedicated professional that he is, Rajini is keeping track of the progress made by Rana and is anxious to join the unit as quickly as possible. Director KS Ravikumar and the team have told him to simply focus on returning to full fitness. Looks like the prayers of the fans have been answered

Villain Vijay

In an interesting development, Vijay said that he is very fond of villain characters. He revealed that he enjoyed doing Priyamudan, where his character had definite shades of grey. His character dies in that movie and apparently his mother was very upset when she watched it and begged him not to do such roles. Out of consideration for her feelings he did not accept any more negative roles though there were plenty that came his way.
In Azhagiya Tamizh Magan, Vijay once again played a negative character who reforms in the end. Vijay said he would love to do similar roles and may just consider them in future. We suggest that filmmakers get busy writing a script for Vijay where he is a deliciously wicked guy but somehow escapes death in the climax scene

Karthi’s next confirmed

If recalled there was news that Director Rajesh is going to do a film with Kollywood young rising star Karthi but later to that there is no update regarding that project. But latest we hear is that Director Rajesh will be directing Karthi after completing Oru Kal Oru Kannadi.

The film will move to floors once the director wraps his current project OKOK. This film will be produced by Studio Green of Gnanavel Raja. However the director didn’t revealed anything about the storyline. The insiders in the industry are judging that the film will be on the lines of his previous films Siva Manasula Shakthi and Boss Engira Bhaskaran. The cast and crew of the film will be finalized soon.

Meanwhile Karthi will also be completing his next venture Saguni directed by Shankar Dayal.

Vijay thanks Jayalalitha

Chief minister Jayalalitha strongly condemned the atrocities being perpetrated against Tamils in Sri Lanka. She quoted a UN appointed committee report that shed light on the war crimes committed by the Sri Lankan government's during its armed conflict with the LTTE. Even harmless civilians were not spared, she said. She demanded punishment for those guilty of such war crimes.

Jayalalitha passed a resolution at the Tamil Nadu Assembly which has been accepted by all the parties calling for economic sanctions against Sri Lanka by the Indian government. She has said it was the only way to get the Sri Lankan government to toe the line and to ensure the safety of the Tamils.

Vijay has commended her actions and said that they are reassuring to the Tamilians there. He said that it is his desire that the Tamils in Sri Lanka will soon be able to live with peace, happiness, and equal rights.

Karthi shooting for Saguni at Napier Bridge

Kollywood young rising star Karthi is currently switching all his energies for his forthcoming film Saguni. The film is progressing on a brisk pace in Chennai.

The team of Saguni was spotted near Napier Bridge in Chennai, canning a song for the film. It was the intro song of Karthi and he appeared in a formal wear for the song. It is well known that Saguni is a Saguni is a political satire film and Karthi dressed in a formal look reveals that he is playing the role of a politician. It was early morning when the shoot took place and Morning walkers at Napier Bridge were pleasantly surprised spotting the actor. Karthi has posed with everyone and signed autographs for all his fans who gathered at the shoot location.

Karthi is going to be back with comedian Santhanam to create the laughter magic yet again on screen after Siruthai. The film is directed by debutant Shankar Dayal.

The countdown begins! Yes, the much-awaited audio launch of 7am Arivu will take place on July 7^th or 8^th. The film’s music director Harris Jayraj has said yesterday that the audio launch will take place in 30 days time.

Vijay’s producer receives death threat

Romesh Babu, the producer of the Vijay starrer Kavalan, has complained to the police that producer Shakthi Chidambaram threatened to kill him if he did not give a written statement that he is willing to forego 2.75 crores which a private television channel owes him. Romesh Babu said that he had sold the satellite rights of Kavalan to a private television channel for 5.5 crores of which he had received 2.75 crores. The channel refused to pay the balance for the past four months despite repeated requests.


Now, producer Shakthi Chidambaram has intervened in this issue and has threatened Romesh Babu with dire consequences if he does not forego the remaining amount. A complaint has been registered against Shakthi Chidambaram on this issue.

Good news for Rajini fans!

Rajini fans can rejoice now. Rajinikanth is currently in Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre in Singapore and his condition has improved. He has responded well to treatment and no longer needs dialysis. Doctors have decided to discharge him soon. Once out of the hospital, Rajini will stay on in Singapore for a period of convalescence.

There is even better news as he will be reporting back on the sets of Rana in September. In his absence, portions of the film with Deepika and Sonu Sood will be shot in August. Also doctors have forbade Rajini from doing strenuous action sequences, so director KS Ravikumar has to make certain changes regarding how the action scenes will be filmed.

Fans can breathe easy now, as Rajini is perfectly fine and will be back to rock our worlds soon.

Ko sets a record!

Ko, directed by KV Anand, has created a record at the box office! It has completed 50 days and has surpassed the collections of Ayan, which was also directed by KV Anand. The film was produced by RS Infotainment and distributed by Red Giant Movies.
Ko had some great music by Harris Jayaraj and starred Jiiva, Ajmal, Pia Bajpai and Karthika in the lead roles.


A press note states, “The movie opened in a big way with 350 prints and garnered huge collections in Tamilnadu, Kerala, Karnataka and overseas. Ko was dubbed in Telugu as Rangam and was released in over 150 prints.”

Kaakha Kaakha remake to hit screens in July

Filmmaker Nishikanth Kamat hogged the limelight with films like Dombivli Fast (Marathi’, it’s Tamil remake ‘Evano Oruvan’) and ‘Mumbai Meri Jaan’ (Hindi) that were based on powerful themes. The filmmaker was very impressed with Gautham Menon’s ‘Kaakha Kaakha’ and felt that the theme is very much relevant with the city of Mumbai as cops face more problems relentlessly due to increasing crime rate.

Produced by Vipul Shah, the Hindi remake was titled as ‘Force’ with John Abraham and Genelia D’ Souza playing the lead roles.  Nishikanth has crafted a screenplay that will be completely different from the original version.

Recently, the marriage sequence between John and Genelia was shot in the backdrops of gigantic sets erected in one of the famous indoor studios in Mumbai. With just few portions pending to be shot, Vipul Shah has confirmed that ‘Force’ will hit screens by July.

AR Rahman puts Rana on hold?

AR Rahman had discussed about Rana’s music and songs with the film’s director KS Ravi Kumar and Rajinikanth a few months back. At that time, one song for Rana was composed much to the satisfaction of the director and the Superstar.


However, the situation for further discussions and other song compositions could not take place due to Rajini's hospitalization. Following this, AR Rahman has decided to put Rana on hold on the request of KS Ravi Kumar.


With Rajini in Singapore for advanced treatment, there is no clear indication on when he will return. And it is uncertain if he would immediately get back to the sets and don the greasepaint. In such a situation, AR Rahman has decided to put Rana in the backburner. for the timebeing.

Vijay celebrates with fans… serves a feast!

Vijay convened a meet with his fans at the Sangeetha Marriage Hall in Chennai on Saturday. This meeting was attended by around 1000 of his fans from various districts. The actor had called for this meet to thank all his fans for abiding by his word and supporting the AIADMK during the recent polls despite belonging to various political affiliations.
