Mankatha was made for boys

In a press conference held today in Chennai, Venkat Prabhu revealed a lot of juicy tidbits about his film Mankatha. Apparently originally the film was made for Venkat Prabhu's band of boys. Ajith surprised him one day with a phone call saying he would gladly work with him if he had a character like the Dark Knight or Batman, a character with shades of grey. When Venkat Prabhu told him that he had written such a character for a project, Ajith agreed to do it!
The director also revealed that his cousin Yuvan did his first two films absolutely free of charge and it was only with Goa that he started accepting remuneration.His father, Gangai Amaren is very pleased that he and his brother, Premgi are doing so well for themselves. In fact, he added,  his father says that though Ajith will always be Thala for him personally Venkat Prabhu is THE Thala.Venkat is introducing fresh talent in this film like Mahat Raghavendra and Ashwin Kakumanu. In addition to this duo, lyricist Niranjan Bharathi who is the great grandson of Mahakavi Bharathiyar is also getting a breakwith this film.Familiar faces from the original band of boys like Vaibhav, Premgi, and Aravind Akash will also be seen the film.
