Bollywood actresses are soon going to dominate the Tamil film industry. It looks like they would rule the Kollywood this season, as they have become first choice for Tamil filmmakers and actors. After Deepika Padukone and Sonakshi Sinha, now Silambarasan is in search of B-town girl for his Dabangg remake.
Silambarasan has rejected many regional actresses, including Kajal Aggarwal for Dabangg Tamil version. The actor wants to cast a big name of Bollywood and is keen to rope in Sonam Kapoor. Reports say that the makers of the film have already approached Sonam to play the leading lady in the film, which was played by Sonakshi Sinha in the original.
In the recent past, Tamil filmmakers are opting Bollywood actresses for their films. It may be recalled that Deepika Padukone and Vidya Balan have been roped in for Rajinikanth's Rana. Sonakshi Sinha has signed on the dotted line for Kamal Hassan's yet to be titled film and Prachi Desai for Arun Vijay's next film. Now, Sonam Kapoor will be the new entry to the Tamil film industry, if she pulls off Dabangg remake.
Meanwhile, sources say that Dharani of Vijay's Ghilli fame has been signed to direct the film. Mohan Apparao and T Ramesh are producing the film. The movie is expected to take off in May 2011.However, Dabangg is also being remade in Telugu with Pawan Kalyan in the lead role. The movie is titled Gabbar Singh.
